Lettre

Dear Mrs Pahud,

My name is Sara Maglio and I am fifteen years old.

I am looking forward to spending the year with you !

I have a little sister. Her name is Valentina and she is nine. I come from Italy and Portugal. When I was six, I moved to London, but I don't remember English. I spent one year in London. That was great !

I play volleyball and my coach is really strict ! I don't like him !

During the summer vocation, I went to Italy for two weeks. It was fun !

After college, I want to go to university, because I want to become a doctor.

I really like helping people especially kids.

My life

I live in a little village called Confignon. It's very nice and quiet. I live in an apartment, in an building with two floors. It's small ! The building is in concrete. My apartment is on the second floor. It is very bright and I have a big balcony. I have a bedroom for myself. But my sister is alway in my room, because she wants to play on the computer. The furniture in my room is white and green. My bedroom is big.

I get up at half past six every day, except at the week-end. I go to school by bus, it takes twenty-fiveminutes, or by scooter with my father and it takes about fifteen minutes. My school is called Nicolas-Bouvier and it is in concrete too. My school is grey. There isn't a lot of colour. It's foo bad ! I have a lot of classes, but my favourite school subject are biology and English. People are ver great with me in my class. I have to spend four years in this school. And I'm on the second year. After High School, I want to go to university.

Mississippi Burning

This movie speaks about racism, segregation and discrimination. This movie take place in Mississippi, where three young men (two whites and one black) have disappeard. The three young men were civil rights activitists. So the FBI come here and investigates on the missing. In this country, there is an organisation they called the Ku Klux Klan (KKK). They hate black people, they fight them and they set fire to black people's home and black people's churches. They are horrible. The Ku Klux Klan has killed the three young activitists.At the end, The FBI discovers the bodies and they arrest the members of the KKK. The members of the Ku Klux Klan go to prison, some one for seven years and th others for ten years.

I liked this movie. Now I know how Black people live in America. I saw the reality. I think that it is very horrible for them.

My feelings about school

I am in second grade at college Nicolas-Bouvier. I have to spend two more years in this school, before going to university.

The begining of this school year is very good. I have good grades, especially in mathematics ! I think this year is not so difficult, but I must work. I am worried about the German course, because I don't like it and because I hate German. I prefer English. I am worried about about the physics too, because I don't understand anything !

People are very nice to me and teachers included as well ! At the begining, I was exious because I thought that I knew nobody. But I saw my friends and all was better. I am make a lot of new friends. That is cool. On Mondays and Fridays, I eat at the cafeteria with some friends. At first we were four, but now we are more. We eat together and this is fun. The negetaive point is that the food is not good. The positive point is that I spend an excellent time. We laugh a lot.

I hope that I will pass this year and the others too, because if not. I will not be able to go to university and mx dream will break down. My dream is to become pediatrician and herefore I must succeed my studies.
